Helical Insight comes with server-level caching mechanism which is highly configurable. Caching ensures that even with large data and many concurrent users, performance is not hampered. Also, caching ensures that we are not making multiple requests to the databases. Caching happens both at the RAM level as well as hard-disk level. Cache refresh rate can also be set for individual reports that are created in ad-hoc interface.
There is a configurable cache.xml file which allows disabling cache or configuring the entire cache timeout. Administrator further has the option to delete cache, selectively delete cache files and perform other operations. Using Helical Workflow, advanced functionality like trigger based or time based cache refresh etc. can be performed.
