Connecting to Database from AWS Glue

From AWS Glue, you can connect to Databases using JDBC connection. Follow the below steps to connect to Database:

1. Login to AWS Console
2. Search for AWS Glue service
3. Click on AWS Glue service



4. Under Data catalog, go to Connections



5. Click on Add connection



6. Provide Connection name and Select Connection type as JDBC and click on Next



7. Provide the JDBC URL as below
1. For SQL Server – jdbc:sqlserver://host:port;databaseName=db_name
2. For Oracle – jdbc:oracle:thin://@host:port/service_name
3. For other database engines – jdbc:protocol://host:port/databasename
8. Provide Username, Password, VPC, Subnet and Security groups



9. Click on Next
10. Review all the steps and Click on Finish
11. For testing the Connection, click on Test connection in Connections
