To find AWS Glue Triggers, follow the below steps:

  3. Click on AWS Glue service
  4. Under ETL, click on Triggers

AWS Glue has 3 types of triggers

  1. Schedule
  2. Job events
  3. On-demand
  1. Schedule : This can be used to trigger a job at any time. We have option to provide the frequency (how frequently should the job be triggered) and UTC time (time at which the job should be triggered)
    1. Frequency :
    2. Frequency can be provided in various formats – Hourly, Daily, Choose days, Weekly, Monthly, Custom

    3. Start Hour (UTC) :
    4. Hours can be provided from 12AM to 11PM

    5. Start Minute :
    6. Minutes can be provided here

  2. Job events : This can be used to trigger a job based on the status of one or more jobs. We have option to provide the job event and the job to watch.
    1. Choose a Job event : Job events can be one of following – Succeeded, Failed, Stopped, Timeout
    2. Before firing this trigger match : This tells whether the trigger should be executed when All watched job events are matched or Any watched job events are matched

  3. On-demand : This can be used to trigger the job whenever necessary.

Once we select the type of trigger, we should be choosing the job which has to start on execution of the trigger.
